Policies at The Kennwood Inn

Pet Policy: Service dogs are warmly welcomed and accepted as required by law under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We offer a selection of dog-friendly rooms—Blue Porcelain, Country French, Bridge, Caitlin’s, Olde English, Captain’s Suite, and Country Victorian—all with private outdoor entrances for your convenience and the comfort of other guests. We do not accept cats and other types of animals.

For those bringing dogs, a one-time fee of $35–$50 applies to cover extra cleaning after your stay. Please ensure your pet is vaccinated, weighs no more than 50 pounds, and that there are no more than two pets in the room. Pets must be well-behaved, housebroken, and always on a leash in public spaces; pee-pads are not permitted.

Pets are not allowed to visit other guest rooms. Liability insurance is required in case your pet causes injury, and some breeds may be restricted due to insurance policies. For everyone’s comfort, pets are not permitted in living rooms, the courtyard, back porch, pool area, or any food service areas, according to Health Department regulations.

To avoid extra cleaning charges, please bring a crate, blanket, or sheet if your pet is accustomed to being on the furniture or just let us know if you’d like us to have them available for you. Any damage or excessive cleaning needs will be charged to the guest. Barking dogs, unaccompanied pets, or those causing disturbances may result in termination of occupancy without refund. Bathing pets in guest tubs or showers is not allowed. We can supply a hose in our courtyard if you need to rinse off your dog.

Service animals trained to perform specific tasks for individuals with disabilities are exempt from certain guidelines. ADA does not recognize emotional support or comfort dogs. They are welcomed as pets.

Smoking Policy and Guest Responsibility: Guests are expected to act in a lawful, responsible, and courteous manner. Unfortunately, when that does not occur, we reserve the following rights:

Excessive damage to your room will be charged based on the extent of the damage. Broken or missing items, damage caused by pets, and ruined linens will be charged to the credit card on file. In the event of a damage charge, you will be sent an updated receipt for your stay.

All guest rooms are non-smoking. Smoking in your room is subject to a $300 cleaning fee.

Guests who subject other guests, employees, or vendors to excessive noise, threatening behavior, or inappropriate conduct, will be removed from the property. No refunds will be given.

Please note our quiet hours begin at 9pm and end at 9am.

Thank you for choosing The Kenwood Inn for your St. Augustine stay, and thank you for your courtesy to others during your visit.

Privacy Policy: We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site. We also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.

Security Policy: Your payment and personal information are always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all your personal information, including credit card number, name and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.

Cancellation and Changes Policy: The Kenwood Inn is a unique property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. We recognize plans may change; because we have a small bed and breakfast, it is necessary to have a cancellation policy that is comparable to similar lodging facilities. It is our intent to be fair to our guests but also to act in a businesslike manner.

Cancellations and/or changes to your reservation via email are not accepted. Your reservation must be canceled by calling The Kenwood Inn at 904-824-2116. Travel cancellation insurance is always an option and recommended.Insure My Trip is a great platform for comparing cancellation insurance.

To cancel your reservation, you must call more than 7 days prior to arrival (more than 14 days prior to arrival for reservations during holiday periods or when three or more rooms are reserved or the stay is 4 nights or longer). A $50 cancellation fee will be applied as credit towards a future reservation of equal or greater value. Future stay credits have no cash value and expire 90 days from the issue date.

In the event you must cancel your reservation for any reason with less notice, shorten your stay, or check out early, you are responsible for the entire cost of your reservation. If we can re-book your room(s), a full or partial refund may be made; otherwise, you will be responsible for the entire balance.”

Typically, we request a 2-night stay on weekends and a 3-night stay during some holiday periods and weekends. Please call if you need an exception to this policy. By reserving with us, you consent to these policies.

Weddings and group blocks have different cancellation policies. Please refer to your host for those cancellation guidelines.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, which allows us to maintain the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines The Kenwood Inn. Our goal is to offer you not only a restful place to stay, but also peace of mind as you make your travel plans. Should you have questions regarding our policies or need assistance with any aspect of your reservation, our attentive team is always just a phone call away.

Reservation Policy: Our knowledgeable staff are always happy to assist with any inquiries and can provide recommendations for local attractions, dining options, and activities to enhance your stay. Whether you are planning a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a business retreat, we strive to make your experience memorable and seamless.

Please note that reservations are subject to availability, especially during peak seasons and special events, so early booking is highly encouraged. Should you have any special requests or accessibility needs, feel free to mention them during your reservation process, and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.

All major credit cards and cash are accepted. Please call the inn if you are interested in reserving rooms for weddings, special events, or corporate meetings.

Travel Insurance Policy: As much as we would love to control the weather, flight delays, health issues, and any other unexpected and unwanted travel mishaps, we cannot. Because cancellation fees do apply, we recommend you consider travel insurance. There are many companies that offer this insurance such as Travel Guard, Insure My Trip, TravelInsurance.com, etc. Additionally, AAA, AARP and some credit cards may provide coverage. If you are unable to keep your travel plans and your cancellation falls within the cut-off dates, we will of course attempt to rebook your room, but if we are not successful, travel insurance may reimburse you for the cancellation fees.
